OTE Group was included among the frontrunners for greenhouse gas emissions reductions, according to the Financial Times. The “Europe’s Climate Leaders 2025” report was compiled by the Financial Times in collaboration with Statista and points out the Greek technology giant achieved a significant 83.9% reduction in CO₂ emissions during the assessment period.
This marks the third consecutive year that OTE was incorporated in the prestigious list and one of only four companies headquartered in Greece to be recognized. Among European telecommunications companies, OTE ranks 10th out of 22 firms in the sector.
The Financial Times’ list highlights 600 European companies that have achieved the highest cut in greenhouse gas emissions.
The evaluation also considers additional climate-related actions such as participation in climate initiatives like the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) and the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), and overall commitment to sustainability.
OTE’s 83.9% cut in carbon emissions is a standout achievement in its sector and underscores the company’s commitment to sustainability.
“Our presence on the ‘Europe’s Climate Leaders 2025’ list reaffirms our commitment to reducing our environmental footprint while highlighting the crucial role technology plays in a sustainable future,” said Mr. Dimitris Michalakis, Chief of Corporate Communications, Sustainability, and Channel Productions at OTE Group.
