A cold air mass moving through the north-northwestern Balkans southward will bring unstable weather phenomena, including storms, to the Dodecanese Islands, Crete, and the Peloponnese on Thursday.

According to the meteorological forecast, the phenomena are expected to last until Saturday, with the deterioration expected to start on Thursday afternoon, initially impacting the Ionian Islands and mainland Greece, with local showers turning heavy and thunder in the Peloponnese.

In Attica, afternoon showers are expected, particularly intense in the western and northern parts of the region, with temperatures reaching up to 28 degrees Celsius. In Thessaloniki, rain is forecast by evening, especially in the western and southern areas, and the temperature will not exceed 25 degrees Celsius.

The most intense weather activity is expected to peak on Friday and Saturday. The areas most affected will include eastern and southern Thessaly, central and northern Evia, and central and eastern mainland Greece, as well as the central, eastern, and southern Peloponnese, Crete, and the Cyclades.

Saturday poses particular risks for Crete, but conditions are expected to improve from Sunday onward as the atmosphere clears.

Meanwhile, temperatures are set to rise significantly starting in the middle of next week, as high as 34 degrees Celsius.
