A recent MRB poll reveals growing public anger and concern over the farming subsidy scandal, with the majority of Greeks believing that government ministers are implicated. According to the survey, 74.5% of respondents believed that ministers were culpable in the case, while only 13.6% believed otherwise.
Apart from the general public’s irritation over the farming subsidy scandal, the findings showed that Greek citizens were also discontent regarding the government’s handling of other key issues, particularly the Tempi train disaster.
Despite growing criticism, the ruling New Democracy party continues to hold a comfortable lead in voter intentions, with support exceeding 30% after adjustments. Meanwhile, PASOK appears to be edging ahead in the contest for second place, narrowly surpassing Plefsi Eleftherias (Course of Freedom).
A striking 71.7% of those surveyed believe the government will not do everything in its power to fully investigate the Tempi case, while only 24% are confident that justice will ultimately be served.
