Despite growing discontent, the ruling New Democracy (ND) party continues to lead in voter intention, according to a new nationwide poll conducted by Metron Analysis on behalf of MEGA TV.

ND received just above 22% in voting intention, with an adjusted estimate of 28.5%, down 1.7 points from May, while PASOK has now pulled ahead as the main opposition force, with 10.2% in stated voter intention and 13% in estimated support. Course of Freedom follows closely with 9.6% and 12.3%, respectively.

The Communist Party (KKE) and Greek Solution hover near double digits with 9.9% and 9.3%, respectively. SYRIZA, once the dominant opposition party, lags with only 4.6% in intention and 5.9% in estimated support. Four additional parties are currently polling at or near the 3% threshold for parliamentary entry.

According to the survey, 69% of respondents believe the country is heading in the wrong direction, with only 26% expressing optimism. Personal finances remain a key concern, with 45% saying they are worse off compared to last year and just 14% reporting an improvement.

When asked to identify the most pressing problems facing the country, citizens pointed to the high cost of living (31%), the economy (25%), foreign policy and conflicts (8%), and institutional crisis (7%).

The poll findings revealed that public confidence in the government was eroding across multiple fronts. A vast majority disapprove of its performance in geopolitics and international relations (73%), daily life and public services (78%), and democratic institutions and governance (82%)

The government was rated negatively by 69% of those surveyed, with Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis personally rated unfavorably by 67%. The main opposition fares even worse: 83% disapprove of its overall performance, and 80% hold a negative view of PASOK leader Nikos Androulakis.
