Another light earthquake, this time measured as 4.2 on the Richter scale, was pinpointed at 5 kilometers north-northeast of the island of Gavdos, south of Crete.
The tremor was recorded at 17.38 (15.38 GMT)
The quake was felt in areas of south Crete, and as far as Rethymno and Hania.
Greece has seen a surge in seismic activity this year, especially in late January and February when a “seismic swarm” generated thousands of quakes in a sea region between Santorini, Anafi, Amorgos and Ios.
Several light and moderate quakes have also shaken Crete this year, with another light quake rocking Mount Athos a few days ago.
