Greece’s ongoing 48-hour taxi strike, which has been announced for Wednesday, May 28, until Thursday, May 29, promises to cause widespread disruptions in Greece’s capital city of Athens. In an effort to help residents and visitors get to and from the international airport of Athens, public transportation services will be reinforced.

The following express bus lines will run with increased frequency, as specified below:

  • X95 Syntagma – Athens Airport: every 15 minutes
  • X96 Piraeus – Athens Airport: every 12 minutes
  • X93 Kifisos Intercity Bus Station – Athens Airport: every 15 minutes
  • X97 Athens Airport – Elliniko Metro Station (circular route): every 30 minutes

For exact departure times and schedules, passengers are advised to also consult the OASA Telematics System or contact the OASA information center at 11185.

Meanwhile, metro services on Line 3 to and from the airport (the blue line) will be increased between 9:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. to meet higher demand.

An additional train will operate on the Doukissis Plakentias – Airport – Doukissis Plakentias route.
